Minors ? Temporary Bees Wells, Iannetta focus on big picture.
As the Los Angeles Angels prepare for what looks to be a playoff run, they are about a week away from adding two vital pieces.
Vernon Wells and Chris Iannetta, with the Salt Lake Bees on rehab assignments for at least a handful of games, are eager but cautious.

"I?ve got to be able to get healthy and in game shape before I feel like I can contribute," said Iannetta following the Bees? 10-5 loss to Fresno (53-47) on Sunday afternoon at Spring Mobile Ballpark. "I just don?t want to be up there just to be up there. I want to be up there and contributing."
Wells, who hit a home run and stole a base for Salt Lake (49-53), looks about ready. He?s hitting .455, but like Iannetta Wells is not quite in game shape.
"There?s no rush with the way the [Angels are] playing now," Wells said. "It?s just a matter of getting my timing down, make sure my body?s where it needs to be before I get back there."
Wells, an outfielder, was placed on the disabled list May 21 with a torn ligament in his right thumb.
Iannetta has been on the DL since May 11, struck on the wrist by a pitch by Minnesota?s Liam Hendriks while catching Jered Weaver?s no-hitter May 2.
Iannetta actually caught several more games before a CT Scan revealed the depth of the injury. Surgery was required.
"The wrist feels good," said Iannetta, still struggling with his timing at the plate. "That?s the most important thing right now."
If all goes well, Iannetta expects to rejoin the Angels in a week. He still has to catch back-to-back nine-inning games.

However, both players understand that something special is happening in Southern California as former Bees Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo have helped spark the Angels back into a playoff race with Texas and the suddenly resurgent Oakland Athletics.
Wells, too, knows his role has changed since May.
"I know what my role?s going to be. It?s just a matter of whenever you get opportunities, it is a matter of helping your team win."

Voyagers 6, Raptors 5 ? In Great Falls, Mont., Ogden?s Jesus Valdez grounded out with runners on second and third base in the top of the ninth inning to end the game. The Raptors? Pat Stover hit his first career homer in the eight inning.
Mustangs 13, Owlz 8 ? In Orem, the host Owlz rallied for six runs in the sixth inning but came up short against Billings. Orem?s Wade Hinkle went 4-for-5 in the loss.
